Business Description
New community garden for residents of the Altadena neighborhood in San Diego's North Park.
Mission Statement:
"The specific purposes for which this Corporation is organized are to provide a safe garden green space beautifying our neighborhood and reducing blight. To empower neighbors of all ages and abilities to come together and participate in something positive and rewarding. To contribute and make a difference in our community by providing fresh vegetables for themselves and the less fortunate. To educate our youth, of any age, by providing parent-to-parent support on where food comes from with a hands on experience. And to give neighbors who don't have the space at their homes, the opportunity to grow a garden of their own and to carry on other charitable activities associated with this goal as allowed by law."
We started the process of developing our garden idea and putting the wheels in motion on Earth Day, 2011. The garden broke ground on 9/11/11. Boxes will be available by subscription, but events and work days will be open to anyone in the community.
